August 23, 2010: New Foreship Turkua Area Office.
Foreship Turku Area Office has moved. The new address is Konemestarinkatu 6, 20780 Kaarina, Finland. The new, bigger office provides more central location and improved facilities.
April 25, 2010: Project engineering for m/s Kristina Katarina conversion.
Foreship is responsible for the project engineering of the m/s Kristina Katarina (e.x. The Iris) conversion. The scope of the work includes stability calculations and approval documentation, as well as general project support.

December 14, 2009: Several projects during 2009.
During 2009 Foreship has been working on several newbuilding projects, the most known of those being "Oasis of the Seas". Other projects include a project design for a post-Panamax passenger cruise ship, interior and HVAC design for a ferry, basic design for an ice breaker and naval architectural and site assistance for a passenger cruise ship newbuilding. Conversion projects of 2009 include Mein Schiff, Seven Seas Navigator, Viking XPRS and several other vessels. At the end of the year Foreship has completed in total more than 650 projects.

New Foreship webpage is launched. Year 2009 has started with several conversion and newbuilding projects.
April 28, 2008: Outstanding RoPax Conversion Award for Finntrader
Foreship has received the ShipPax "Outstanding Ropax Conversion 2007" Award for conversion of Finnlines vessel "Finntrader". The award was "for conversion into a shortsea ro- pax vessel, the addition of well conceived single driver cabins, double level bow ro-ro access and a radical change in the subdivision layout". January 31, 2008: Removal of Cyanobacteria
During 2007 Foreship has studied large scale removal of cyanobacteria ("blue-green algae") from the Baltic Sea. The study revealed that cost efficient removal is possible, using special equipment fitted, e.g. on ice breakers otherwise idle during summer. For more information, please contact Tommi Jansson.

August 1, 2007 was Foreship's 5th Anniversary.
Over the past 5 years Foreship has grown from 3 persons to a company of more than 30 employees. Foreship is today a well known expert in any type of shipbuilding project. Our scope of services covers all the areas of ship design: from hydrodynamics and CFD-calculations to Tribon 3D workshop drawings.
Foreship has made major interior and HVAC design contracts for public spaces on RCI's Genesis newbuilding. These include two main public spaces of this world's largest cruise ship: one for Merima and one for Danish Interior.
March 26, 2007: Foreship appoints Head of Hydrodynamics
Janne Niittymäki has been appointed as Head of Hydrodynamics at Foreship Ltd. Mr. Niittymäki comes from Deltamarin Ltd. where he held the position of Senior Specialist of Hydrodynamics. In connection to his appointment, Foreship has also acquired CFD-software.
March 22, 2007: President's Yacht
Foreship participates in the design of the new yacht for the President of Finland. "Kultaranta VIII" will be built by UKI Workboat Ltd., and Foreship is responsible for the structural design of the vessel.
February 26, 2007: Conversion of Finntrader
This significant and successful conversion included, among other modifications, 160 new passenger cabins (without affecting the vessel's profile), introduction of drive-through cargo handling, new auxiliary engine and significant modifications in public spaces.
Foreship has been in charge of the basic design and the project management of the conversion, together with Finnlines site team. The vessel was converted at Remontowa in Poland and is now in service between Malmö and Travemunde. 
November 27, 2006: Foreship appoints VP Life Cycle Services
Mr. Lauri Haavisto will start on January 1st, 2007 as Vice President of Life Cycle Services. Lauri comes from Merima, the leading Finnish supplier of turn-key interiors, where he held the position of deputy managing director. Utilizing Lauri's turn-key experience in management, construction, scheduling, pricing and supplier knowledge, the scope and quality of our life cycle services can be significantly improved.
September 1, 2006: Foreship rated one of the 25 most succesful companies in the Helsinki area
In a rating by Kauppalehti (Finnish financial daily) Foreship has been rated one of the 25 most succesful companies in the Uusimaa province (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa), placing 11th in this comparison. See the certificate here, or check the August 14 edition of Kauppalehti.
August 24, 2006: Partnership with Adfecto LLP in London
A partnership agreement between Foreship Ltd. and Adfecto LLP has created a unique turn-key service, which offers combined technical design, architectural design and quantity surveying. Adfecto LLP is an architectural design company based in London, with experience of cruise lines such as NCL, Crystal Cruises and Saga Cruises. This partnership enables customers of Foreship to obtain world class architectural services, and in turn Adfecto can provide integrated naval architectural services when undertaking newbuilding and refurbishment design.
August 1, 2006: Foreship appoints VP Management Support Services
Mr. Heikki Jäntti started as Vice President of Management Support Services. Heikki comes from Finnlines, one of the largest European shipping companies specialising in liner cargo service. His vast experience of shipping and RoPax and RoRo projects will further develop Foreship services and benefit our customers.
March 27, 2006: Foreship designs the foreship of 220,000 GT Genesis
Foreship has signed a contract with Aker Yards, Finland, for the design of the fore part (approximately one fourth of the ship) of RCI's 220,000 GT "Genesis" newbuilding. The design contract is for the hull, interior and HVAC classification design, and is an indication of Foreship's recognized position as an engineering company capable of handling large and challenging newbuilding projects. January 15, 2006: Year starts with several conversion projects
A new year starts with several conversion projects: these include design for Celebrity's Century (approval drawings, interior & HVAC design) and other interesting projects. This continues the already big list of conversion designs done by Foreship, including the conversions of Norwegian Spirit, Horizon and Crystal Harmony done in 2005.
September 14, 2005: Foreship signs a contract for design of Arctic Shuttle Tanker
We have signed a contract with Aker Arctic Technology for design of a double-acting arctic shuttle tanker. Foreship will take care of the hull classification design, hull design management and deck outfitting design. This important contract is an indication of our position as a structural design expert for challenging projects, with capacity to handle large newbuilding projects. September 5, 2005: Foreship Helsinki office has moved to new address
We have relocated our Helsinki office. The new office, address Hitsaajankatu 12, is only a short distance from the old address (Hitsaajankatu 6). Due to our moderate expansion our former spaces became eventually too small. The new office comprises the complete sixth floor of the Hitsaajankatu 12 building.
May 24, 2005: Foreship Ltd. is an expert in large scale refurbishment projects During the almost three years in operation we have participated in several significant conversion projects. These have included, for example, project management for RCI vessel Empress of the Seas conversion, conversion design for RoPax vessels and tankers, design for installation of new diesel engines and other large design and management projects. Through these projects Foreship has developed a world class expertise in conversion design, benefiting all our customers.
February 21, 2005: Foreship strengthens hull and interior departments and expands offices
On February 1st Mikael Nyberg started as manager of interior design in our Piikkiö office, Pekka Tuovinen started as manager of hull design in our Helsinki office and Tommi Suominen started as manager of deck outfitting in Piikkiö. Foreship has expanded both Helsinki and Piikkiö offices: despite of now bigger offices, the addresses remain the same.
October 8, 2004: Foreship has acquired NAPA software
Foreship has acquired NAPA software (Naval Architectural PAckage). The software enables also future probabilistic damage stability calculations for cruise ships as well as present A265 calculations.
September 27, 2004: Double-hull tanker conversion design for Fortum Oil
Foreship prepared a project and basic design for conversion of Fortum Oil double-bottom tankers "M/T Palva" and "M/T Tervi" into double-hull tankers fulfilling MARPOL 13F. With a special tank arrangement the lost cargo capacity was minimized.
August 2, 2004: Foreship now two years in operation
Foreship has been in operation for two years. During this time we have been involved in more than 120 different projects of which approximately 80 during our second year in operation. Lately there has been an increasing amount of conversion projects, newbuilding related work for ship owners and shipyards still remaining very strong. Our staff has increased from the original 3 to the present figure of 16.
June 3, 2004: Project Management for "Empress of the Seas" revitalization
Foreship managed the complete revitalization project for the conversion of RCI vessel "Nordic Empress" to "Empress of the Seas". Practically all the vessel's public spaces and cabins were refurbished between April 17th and May 8th, 2004.
December 12, 2003: Rock Climbing Wall design for RCI vessel "Nordic Empress"
Foreship prepared a full design package for RCI Rock Climbing Wall. The installation of the rock climbing wall took place in November 2003.
November 5, 2003: Extensive Refurbishment Project Feasibility Studies for RCI
Foreship has together with ALMACO prepared several comprehensive refurbishment project feasibility studies for Royal Caribbean International fleet. The work has included RCI vessels "Grandeur of the Seas", "Sovereign of the Seas" and "Nordic Empress".
August 1, 2003: Foreship's First Full Year in Operation
On August 1 the first year in operation of Foreship Ltd. became full. During this year Foreship has completed more than 35 projects for several customers, including Cruise Lines, Shipyards and Maritime Suppliers.
May 2, 2003: Foreship designs the deckhouse of KPSI CV2600 Container Ship
Foreship designs the deckhouse for CV2600 Container Ship under construction at Kvaerner Philadelphia Shipyard. This turn-key design for Merima Ltd. includes interior & HVAC design of the vessel's deckhouse.
April 22, 2003: Cruise Ship Refurbishment Partner for Foreship in the USA
Le Trade Llc. and Foreship start cooperation in Cruise Ship Refurbishment Projects in the USA. LE Trade is specialized in cruise ship interior refurbishment turnkey and after sales projects, having 10 years of experience in operating in the USA. LE Trade is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
February 13, 2003: Foreship signs a cooperation agreement with Kvaerner Masa-Yards
Foreship signed a Cooperation Agreement on Product Development with Kvaerner Masa-Yards Ltd.
January 20, 2003: Foreship opens an office in Piikkiö, close to Turku
Foreship established an office in Piikkiö, 10 minutes from Turku. Now with offices in Helsinki and Piikkiö, we are able to better serve our customers both in Helsinki and Turku areas. The office address is Hadvalantie 8, 21500 PIIKKIÖ.
December 18, 2002: Foreship signs an Interior Design Contract for a Meyer Werft Newbuilding
Foreship designs for Merima Ltd. Interior Areas on Meyer Werft NB650 for Brittany Ferries. The design work includes several public areas and will be completed in the beginning of 2003.
November 12, 2002: Foreship starts R&D program "Ship Interior Design in 3-D Environment"
The key aspects of the project are: design in single model environment, object oriented modeling and smart use of 2-D or 3-D where best appropriate while maintaining compatibility with customers' system. The goal of the project is to further develop the productivity and quality of Foreship Interior Design. The project receives also public funding.
October 22, 2002: Foreship acquires FEM-software Finnsap
The first project is a challenging dynamic analysis of equipment to be mounted on a navy surface vessel.
September 1, 2002: Refit of MV Rossiya
Foreship designs the refit of MV Rossiya's upper deck for Merima Ltd. The refit will take place in spring 2003 at Severnaya Verft in St. Petersburg, Russia. The project is a significant interior and HVAC design reference for Foreship Ltd.
