Our personnel of more than 40 naval architects, marine & structural engineers and interior & HVAC designers can provide you the flexible, high quality and personal services by a company of right size. Our tools include NAPA and other state of the art software.
Our offices are located in Helsinki and in Turku Area (Kaarina).
We are well known for large scale conversion projects, structural engineering and newbuilding concept designs. Our customers include the largest cruise lines and other shipowners, shipyards and maritime suppliers, our turnover distributed between these three areas. Highlights of our 9 years in operation are:
2002: Foreship Ltd. is founded by Markus Aarnio, Petri Hakulinen and Marcus Höglund. Our first project was a conversion design of a luxury yacht.
2003:Turku Area Office was opened, lead by Marcus Höglund. Number of conversion projects escalates, including a rock-climbing wall for Royal Caribbean.
2004: Foreship managed the RCI’s Nordic Empress conversion and made a large double hull tanker conversion for Fortum Oil. The number of employees has increased from the original three to sixteen.
2005: Both Helsinki and Turku offices move to new offices due to increasing number of staff. Foreship starts a design of an arctic tanker for Aker Arctic Research Center.
2006: Foreship sign a contract for basic design of the foreship of the 220,000 GT “Genesis”; the total scope will include also several turn-key areas.
2007: Large conversion project for Finntrader is completed and receives an “Outstanding RoPax Conversion” –Award. Foreship also participates in the design of new yacht for President of Finland.
2008: Foreship has completed more than 500 projects and expertise in conversions has lead to several project management tasks.
2009: Very busy year with close to 150 projects.Turnover slightly higher than in 2008.
2010: Year starts with several conversion and newbuilding projects, including ferries, cruise ships and ice breakers. New Helsinki and Turku area offices.
2011: New Managing Director Janne Lietzén.
